Enjoy Indian Home Food Delivery with Saakshi's Kitchen

Simi Gajala

Indian home food delivery means the food an Indian family actually cooks - dal, rajma, chole, sabzi, roti and rice - made in one family kitchen and delivered frozen to your door. It is not restaurant food couriered across town. This guide explains what arrives, how ordering works, and why home-cooked is a different thing from a takeaway.

Key takeaways

  • Home food delivery brings the everyday household repertoire, not a restaurant menu.
  • Meals are cooked in small batches in our FSA 5-star kitchen, then frozen.
  • Everything arrives frozen and goes straight into your freezer, so dinner is sorted for the week.
  • The food is spiced, not hot - the heat level a family actually cooks at.
  • 79% of orders come from returning families.

What is Indian home food delivery?

It is home cooking, cooked ahead and delivered frozen, rather than restaurant cooking delivered hot. A takeaway app brings you a restaurant's Friday-night menu. Saakshi's Kitchen brings you what an Indian household eats on a Tuesday: dal tadka, rajma chawal, chole, kadhi, a seasonal sabzi with roti or rice. Restaurant Indian is celebration food; ghar ka khana is everyday food, and that difference is the whole point.

What's on the menu?

The weekly rotation a home kitchen actually runs. Yellow dal finished with a proper tadka. Rajma in a slow onion-tomato masala. Chole cooked dark and long. Matar paneer, saag and other vegetarian dishes sit alongside the chicken curries - our kitchen-cooked meats are halal. Each dish is portioned as a complete meal - sabzi, dal, roti or rice - not a sharing platter. See what's cooking this week.

How does it work?

Pick your dishes from the menu, or build your own box if you'd rather choose a mix for the freezer. We cook in small batches, freeze each meal at the kitchen, and deliver it frozen to your door. It goes straight into the freezer, and on the night you want it you cook or reheat straight from frozen until piping hot, following the pack instructions. Once a meal has defrosted, eat it within 24 hours and don't refreeze it.

That last part is the quiet advantage: nothing has to be eaten by Thursday. The food waits for you, not the other way round.

Why home-cooked rather than a takeaway?

Because of how it is cooked. Most curry houses work from a standing base gravy - one master sauce, turned into a dozen different dishes at the pass. A home kitchen doesn't. At Saakshi's Kitchen the masala is built from scratch every batch: onion, tomato, ginger and garlic, bhuno'd properly, then the spices in the right order for that dish. No standing gravy base, no cream-and-butter finish on everything. It is also milder than a restaurant curry - spiced for eating, not for showing off - which is exactly why it works as everyday dinner rather than an occasional blowout.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver across UK mainland from our FSA 5-star kitchen. Some areas we can't reach, so check your postcode before you plan the week. We've made 16,000+ deliveries so far, and the number we're proudest of is that 79% of orders come from families ordering again.

Frequently asked questions

Is the food delivered hot?

No - it is delivered frozen. That is what lets one FSA 5-star kitchen cook for households across UK mainland, and it means dinner keeps in your freezer until the night you actually want it.

Is Indian home food very spicy?

It is spiced rather than hot. Chilli sits well back so jeera, dhania and haldi come through - the heat level a family cooks at when everyone from children to grandparents is eating.

What is the difference between home food delivery and a takeaway?

A takeaway delivers a restaurant's menu hot, once. Home food delivery brings the everyday household dishes, cooked in small batches and frozen, so a single delivery covers many meals.
