How long do the meals last?

Our fresh meals are guaranteed to remain fresh for up to three days in the refrigerator from the day of delivery. For longer storage, you can freeze the meals upon delivery, and they will maintain their quality for up to 28 days in the freezer. So you've always got a delicious, ready-to-eat meal whenever you fancy one.

Are your meals Halal?

Yes — all our meat is halal certified. Every meat dish on our menu uses certified halal meat.

How do I heat my meals?

Heating instructions for fresh meals:
If your meal is fresh, we recommend heating it in the microwave for 1 to 2.5 minutes. Caution: Contents may be hot after heating. Allow it to stand for one minute after heating. Stir through and reheat for longer if required. It's best to heat the meal for a shorter time initially and reheat if needed, rather than overcooking.

Heating instructions for frozen meals:
If your meal is frozen, we recommend heating it in the microwave for 3 to 6 minutes. Caution: Contents may be hot after heating. Allow it to stand for one minute after heating. Stir through and reheat for longer if required, stirring every minute or so to ensure even heating. All our meals are tested and tweaked to ensure they taste and hold up well when heated in the microwave, so this is our recommended method.

Alternative heating methods:
As an alternative, you can transfer your meal from the plastic tray into an oven-safe dish and heat it in the oven. You can also heat it on the stove in a non-stick frying pan. Please note that our meal containers are microwave-safe but should not be placed in the oven or on the stove.

We deliver to most postcodes UK nationwide. We're sorry, but we currently don't deliver to the following postcodes:

When do you deliver?

We offer delivery services on Tuesdays and Fridays. At checkout, you can pick your preferred delivery day from the available options.

For larger orders over £200, we can try to deliver on other weekdays too. If your order is over £350, we can arrange weekend deliveries as well.

If you need a weekend delivery, just drop us an email at concierge@saakshis.com and we'll sort it out for you.

We always do our best to get your meals to you fresh and on time.

How many days in advance do I need to place my order?

To make sure your meals are as fresh and flavourful as possible, we need at least 4 days' notice to prepare your order. Our team lovingly prepares each meal just before delivery, so everything tastes its best.

We'd recommend placing your order soon to grab your preferred delivery day. At checkout, you can choose from the next available delivery days in your cart.

By ordering ahead, you know each dish has been freshly made with love and care.

Do you deliver in insulated boxes?

Yes! We take freshness really seriously, so we make sure your meals arrive in tip-top condition.

We use specially designed insulated boxes that keep everything at the right temperature during delivery. Our packaging meets all UK food safety standards.

Your meals will stay fresh for up to 72 hours in these insulated boxes, keeping all the flavour, texture, and goodness locked in.

Will I get a tracking link?

Yes! Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a tracking link via email so you can follow your delivery in real time. We ship via DPD, APC, or DHL, and your meals will arrive between 8am and 9pm on your chosen delivery day.

What if I'm not home for my delivery?

No worries! We know life gets busy, so we have a "leave safe" policy to make sure you still get your meals.

Our drivers will follow the delivery instructions you've provided. Just a heads up — please don't rely on a phone number alone as instructions, since not all drivers carry mobiles and we can't guarantee they'll call.

Please give us clear instructions for where to leave your box. Make sure the spot is easy to get to and free from pets or anything blocking the way. If your instructions aren't clear or you're not in, the driver will use their best judgement to leave your box somewhere safe.

All our boxes are packed with insulation and ice packs to keep everything fresh. We'd recommend popping your meals in the fridge as soon as you can though.

Can I pick up?

Yes, you can! We have our first physical store in Brighton.

You can collect from 1 Paston Place, Brighton and Hove, BN2 1HA during pickup hours.

For other locations, we operate through cloud kitchens so we can reach more people across the UK. We're always expanding, so watch this space for future pickup spots near you.

Just choose the pickup option at checkout and collect your order when it's ready. Enjoy Saakshi's home-cooked flavours at home or on the go!

Are there any commitments?

Not at all! Saakshi's Kitchen is completely flexible — no long-term commitments.

You're in full control. You can change, pause, or cancel your subscription anytime before your next payment date. It's all managed through your portal, nice and easy.

Need to tweak your meal plan, take a break, or change your preferences? Just log into your portal. For meal swaps, drop us an email at concierge@saakshis.com with your order number and what you'd like instead, and we'll sort it.

We want you to enjoy our home-cooked meals on your own terms. If you need any help, just give us a shout — we're always happy to help.

What if I don't want a delivery every week?

No problem at all! You don't have to get a delivery every week.

You can skip a week (or several!) whenever you need to. Just change, pause, or cancel your deliveries up to 5 days before your next scheduled delivery.

If weekly doesn't work for you, you can also set your deliveries to every 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or monthly — whatever fits your life best.

We want this to work around you, not the other way around. Need to adjust things or take a break? Go for it!

How will my food stay cool?

We carefully handpack all ingredients with special ice packs and insulation, so your food keeps cool until you get home.

Can I change or cancel a delivery if the deadline has passed?

We're sorry, after the deadline has passed we're unable to cancel or change your order. This deadline is in place to ensure Saakshi's is responsible from a food waste and sourcing perspective.

If you're not able to use the box we'd encourage you to gift it to a friend or family member.

I've not received the meals I was expecting

If you've checked this and did receive the incorrect meals, please contact us. It's important that we are aware of these issues so we can make it up to you and ensure this doesn't happen again.

Can I add any extras to my order?

Yes! We also offer delicious side dishes, desserts and much more.

You can select these from the Catering tab on the main menu or you can add them from the popup that appears after you click 'Add to Cart'

Payments

My address is not working at checkout?

If your address is not working at checkout it might mean one of two things. 1) You are not within our delivery radius 2) You need to re-input your address using the autofill option. If you are within Brighton & Hove it is most likely that you need to re-input your address using the autofill option.

Changes To My Order

Can I change the number of meals or servings in my plan?

Yes! You are in complete control of the number of meals you will recieve each week.

Don't forget to make changes to your upcoming order before the deadline, which is 11:59 PM five days prior to your delivery.

Is there a deadline for making changes to my order?

All changes (including meal swaps, skipping deliveries, changing meals and cancelling your subscription) need to be made by the deadline, which is 11:59 PM five days prior to your delivery.

This is so we can give our suppliers enough notice to provide us with the exact quantities we need. We try to reduce food waste as much as possible, so we need the deadline to make this happen.

Subscriptions

How does Subscribe & Save work?

Pick your favourite meals, choose your delivery day, and save 20% on every order — automatically. We'll deliver fresh meals on your chosen schedule (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly). You're in full control and can change, pause, or cancel anytime from your account.

Can I pause or skip a delivery?

Yes! You can pause your subscription or skip any upcoming delivery directly from your subscription portal — no need to contact us. Just make changes at least 5 days before your next delivery date. You can pause for as long as you like and resume whenever you're ready.

Can I swap meals in my subscription?

Absolutely. Before each delivery, you can swap meals from the current week's menu. Contact us at concierge@saakshis.com with your order number and the meals you'd like, and we'll update it for you. We're working on making this self-service in the portal soon.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription anytime from your Manage Subscription portal in your account — it takes 2 clicks, no phone calls or emails needed. There are no cancellation fees or minimum commitments. If you cancel before your next charge date, you won't be billed again.

How much do I save with a subscription?

Subscribers save 20% on every order, automatically applied at checkout. The more meals you add, the more you save. Order 7+ meals per week and you also get free delivery. That's meals from just £5.49 each on our Family plan.

When am I charged for my subscription?

You're charged automatically before each delivery, based on the frequency you chose (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly). You'll receive an email reminder before each charge so there are no surprises. You can skip or pause before the charge date if you don't need a delivery that week.

Can I change my delivery frequency?

Yes — you can switch between weekly, every 2 weeks, every 3 weeks, or monthly deliveries from your subscription portal. Changes take effect from your next scheduled delivery.

Do I need a subscription to order?

No — you can place a one-time order whenever you like with no commitment at all. The subscription is simply a way to save 20% and get regular deliveries without having to reorder each time. Many customers start with a one-time order and subscribe after they've tried the food.

Recipes & Ingredients

How is your meat and poultry sourced?

All our meat and poultry is farm assured, and the farms we work with have regular animal welfare audits. We only work with suppliers who meet our strict quality standards.
We keep close relationships with our suppliers, including regular visits, to make sure the ingredients we use are top quality and perfect for our recipes.

Do you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?

As our suppliers and packing team handle such a wide range of ingredients, we cannot guarantee that no traces of other allergens may be present. For this reason, we can’t offer a gluten free or dairy free preference. All our meat is halal certified.

Are the ingredients organic?

Some of our suppliers are certified organic, but the most important factor to us when sourcing ingredients for our customers is that we work with specialist suppliers who engage in sustainable practices, and that we focus on flavour, making sure we bring our customers the most delicious ingredients possible.

Sourcing fresh produce is our bread and butter and our supply team is really confident that our suppliers source for us not only the best quality, but also ethical and sustainable produce.

How long do your ingredients stay fresh?

As a general rule, our meat will always have an expiry date of at least three days from the date of delivery. Other ingredients' freshness can vary but are all designed to last the week.

We'd advise you to plan your meals with the freshness of items in mind, using products such as fish with shorter expiry dates at the start of the week.


If you wish, you can freeze your meat for up to three months, as long as you do so before the use-by date.

Our suppliers

Responsible ingredient sourcing means getting to know our suppliers far beyond the specs we can read on a label. We aim to get as close to the source of our supply as possible, to ensure freshness while minimising extra food miles, warehousing and food waste in the supply chain.

Is this a subscription?

Not at all — you can order one time, whenever you like, with no commitment. But if you want to save, we also offer a Subscribe & Save option that gives you 20% off every order. You choose your meals, set your delivery day, and we handle the rest. You can pause, skip, or cancel your subscription anytime.

Where is the food prepared?

Our purpose-built kitchen is 5-star food hygiene rated and fully air-conditioned - perfect for all types of food preparation. Alongside is plenty of additional space for packing and storing all the other 'stuff' that comes with running a food business.

How does Saakshi's Kitchen hold my data?

In order for us to deliver the boxes to your door, we store your contact data, order and delivery time, and payment information. You can voluntarily provide your phone number so that we can contact you in case of delays or problems delivering your box.

Saakshi's Kitchen values your privacy. For more information about how we process your personal data, please see our privacy policy.

If you would prefer we did not have this information, you can request for it to be erased by contacting concierge@saakshis.com. This process of erasure can take up to 28 days, but we can assure you that we will no longer keep any of your details or contact you in the future.
