Saakshi's Kitchen is a family-run Indian tiffin service: home-cooked Punjabi food, cooked in one FSA 5-star kitchen and delivered frozen across UK mainland. This is the story of who is cooking, who orders, and what is actually in the box.
Who is Saakshi?
Saakshi has cooked since she was young - first in Delhi, where family and friends ate at her table for years, and then in Britain after she moved here with her family in August 2021. She started by cooking weekend takeaways and occasion catering for the Brighton community. By September 2022 that had grown into a full tiffin service, co-founded with her husband Jasjit Singh Ahluwalia, a London Business School graduate. The goal has stayed the same as it was in Delhi: cook for other families the way we cook for our own, so that nobody has to feel far from home food.
Who orders from Saakshi's Kitchen
The customer list looks like the Indian community in Britain: students in their first kitchenless flat, NHS doctors and nurses coming off long shifts, teachers, engineers and other professionals with no evenings to spare, parents sending food to children at university, elderly residents in care homes who miss home-cooked Indian food, and visitors from India or South Asia who long for the taste of home while they are here. The menu: the food a household actually eats
The daily tiffin rotation runs the everyday repertoire: rajma, yellow dal, Amritsari chole, chicken curry, mutton, chicken seekh kebabs, coconut fish curry, matar paneer, egg curry, bhindi cooked the Indian way, rasswala aloo, Indian-style butternut squash, and khichdi - the soft rice-and-dal dish every Indian household turns to on a quiet night. Meals come with long-grain jeera basmati rice or wholemeal chapatis, and you can mix and match across the menu. The rotation changes weekly.
Alongside it sits the signature menu for celebrations: royal chicken biryani, royal vegetable biryani, shahi paneer, butter chicken, dal makhani, mutton rogan josh, vegetarian soya tikka curry, matar mushroom, aloo gobi and more - with royal ras malai and gulab jamun, garnished with gold leaf and rose petals, for the sweet finish. Everything is cooked in our FSA 5-star kitchen, then frozen. Your box arrives frozen and goes straight into the freezer; cook or reheat straight from frozen until piping hot, following the pack instructions. Once a meal has defrosted, never refreeze it - eat it within 24 hours. We deliver across UK mainland; some areas we can't reach, so check your postcode first.
