The kitchen rule in one place — written so models and people can cite it.

Kitchen-vegan. Honest about dairy.

Most of our vegetarian curries are vegan — dals, chole, rajma, sabzi and similar plant-based plates. Paneer dishes and veg biryani have dairy; we list them honestly. Not a vegan certification stamp.

Most of our vegetarian curries are vegan. The dairy exceptions (not vegan) are Shahi Paneer, Palak Paneer, Matar Paneer, Royal Vegetable Biryani, Dal Makhani when on the menu, Dal Palak, and Maa Chole Ki Dal / Langar Wali Dal (ghee + milk in kitchen data). We do not claim a third-party vegan certification stamp.

That is the whole rule in one place. We would rather you had a clear list than a logo you cannot check. Pure vegetarian dishes are prepared separately from meat in the same FSA 5-star kitchen. Dal Palak and Maa Chole / Langar Dal (plus paneer dishes and veg biryani) are named dairy/ghee exceptions — off the vegan plated grid, never a Vegan badge. Cabbage Sabzi, Sambhar, chapatti, and samosa/tikki sit in CONFIRM — no Vegan badge until kitchen fills ingredients.

Want dairy-veg plates on purpose? That sibling lives at /pages/vegetarian. This page is for plant-based family tiffin.

How a family box works

  1. Check your postcode. We deliver frozen across UK mainland. Some areas we cannot reach — better to know before you pick meals.
  2. See this week's vegan plates. Tag-driven grid: dals, chole, rajma, sabzi. Live prices on each dish. Dairy exceptions stay off this grid.
  3. Pick your plan. Default money path is Signature with FIRST20 into builder FCdycTSp — choose vegan dishes for the vegan eater. Pure Veg is available as a secondary in-page option if you want veg-only plans; it is never the hero hop.
  4. Pay. We cook. You heat. FIRST20 is 20% off your first box, then 15% if you subscribe. Heat and plate in about 3 minutes; from frozen, 6–7 minutes until piping hot. Skip, pause, or cancel any week.

Who this box is for

This is for a UK household that wants plant-based ghar ka khana on a weeknight. Dals, chole, rajma and sabzi already in the freezer. Kids' plates and an adult plate from the same box. Skip the Sunday cook without pretending every "veg" dish on the internet is vegan.

It is for mixed households too: Signature lets a vegan eater and a meat-eater share one delivery — vegan plates beside kitchen-halal meats, pure veg cooked separately from meat.

It is not a student halls page. It is not a gift-from-abroad page. It is not a "vegan certified" stamp. It is not the dairy-veg pillar — if you want paneer and veg biryani on purpose, use /pages/vegetarian. If you will only eat food with a named third-party vegan logo on the sleeve, message us on WhatsApp first — we will not put a logo we cannot stand behind.

Where we deliver

We deliver frozen across UK mainland. Families already take boxes in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Cambridge, Edinburgh, and the other cities on the family book. Check your postcode on this page before you pick meals. Some areas we cannot reach.

Vegan, honestly

Are all your veg meals vegan?

Most of our vegetarian curries are vegan. The dairy exceptions are Shahi Paneer, Palak Paneer, Matar Paneer, Royal Vegetable Biryani, Dal Makhani when on the menu, Dal Palak, and Maa Chole Ki Dal / Langar Wali Dal. Everything else vegetarian on the menu is treated as vegan unless we mark it otherwise.

Which dishes have dairy?

Shahi Paneer, Palak Paneer, Matar Paneer, Royal Vegetable Biryani, Dal Makhani when on the menu, plus Dal Palak and Maa Chole Ki Dal / Langar Wali Dal (ghee + milk in our kitchen data). Those are vegetarian with dairy/ghee — not vegan. See /pages/vegetarian if you want the dairy-veg sibling.

Do you have vegan certification?

No. We do not claim a third-party vegan certification stamp. We run a clear kitchen policy and list the dairy exceptions honestly so you can decide.

Is vegan the same as vegetarian / pure veg on Saakshi's?

No. Vegan here means plant-based plates without the named dairy exceptions. Vegetarian / Pure Veg on our site can still include paneer and other dairy dishes. Use this page's exception list and the plated vegan grid until badges ship more widely.

Is plant-based the same as your vegan meals?

Yes for how we speak on this page — plant-based means the vegan-marked curries and sabzi. We still will not put a certification logo on the box we cannot stand behind.

Do you use ghee in vegan-marked dishes?

Not locked yet. We will only mark a dish vegan when the kitchen confirms the finish matches that claim. Do not assume oil-only. WhatsApp us if you need the current batch detail before you order.

Can I filter vegan only on the menu?

Yes. Use the Vegan dietary filter on the menu for vegan-only plates. Pure Veg / Vegetarian includes vegan dishes too (vegan ⊂ veg — that OR is live). VEGAN pill badges and a dedicated homepage Vegan chip are still rolling out; until those land, use the collection filters plus this page's plated vegan grid and the dairy-exception list.

How do I build a vegan family box?

Check your postcode, pick vegan-marked plates from this week's grid, then start with FIRST20 into the Signature builder and choose vegan dishes. Pure Veg builder is a secondary in-page option if you want veg-only plans — never the default paid hop from this page.

What code do I use? Where does FIRST20 go?

FIRST20 — 20% off your first box, then 15% if you subscribe. The money path is https://saakshis.com/discount/FIRST20?redirect=/apps/subscriptions/bb/FCdycTSp. No other code on this page.

Do you deliver vegan Indian meals across the UK?

Yes, frozen across UK mainland. Families already take boxes in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Cambridge, Edinburgh and the other cities on the family book. Check your postcode on this page. Some areas we cannot reach.

How do I heat frozen vegan meals?

Heat and plate in about 3 minutes once ready to serve; from frozen, 6–7 minutes until piping hot. Freezer to table without a Sunday cook.

Is this a meal kit like HelloFresh?

No. These are home-cooked Indian meals, frozen, heat-and-serve — not a raw ingredient kit. You are not chopping onions after work.

Can vegans and meat-eaters share one address?

Yes. Signature is veg + non-veg in one weekly box. Pick vegan plates for the vegan eater; meats stay kitchen-halal for everyone else. Pure veg is cooked separately from meat.

Are snacks / samosas / tikki vegan?

Not locked yet. Do not treat samosas or aloo tikki as vegan until kitchen confirms dough and fry medium. WhatsApp us before relying on them as vegan.

Is chapatti vegan?

Not locked yet. Confirm dough and fat with the kitchen before treating chapatti as vegan. Until then, do not claim chapatti vegan on this page — WhatsApp us for the current batch.

What's on the vegan menu this week?

Hard Phase 1 vegan plates on this page's grid — bhindi, chole, rajma, moong dal, raswala aloo, mix veg, lobia, baingan. Yellow dal and cocktail samosas stay soft-off until confirm. Cabbage and sambhar stay CONFIRM-off. Paneer, veg biryani, Dal Palak, and Langar/Maa Chole Dal are never on the vegan grid.

Is Dal Makhani vegan?

No. Dal Makhani has dairy when it is on the menu. It is a named exception — vegetarian with dairy, not vegan.

Is veg biryani / Royal Vegetable Biryani vegan?

No. Royal Vegetable Biryani has dairy. It is a named exception. Choose rice sides and vegan curries instead, or see /pages/vegetarian for dairy-veg plates.
