A recipe box solves "what's for dinner". A tiffin service solves "who's cooking it". They are both useful - they are just different jobs. This is the honest comparison, and where Saakshi's Kitchen fits in it.
Recipe box vs tiffin service: what actually arrives
| Recipe box | Saakshi's tiffin service | |
|---|---|---|
| What arrives | Portioned ingredients and a recipe card | Finished dishes, home-cooked and frozen |
| What you do | Chop, cook, plate, wash up | Cook or reheat straight from frozen until piping hot |
| Time at the hob | As long as the recipe takes | As long as reheating takes |
| Best for | Evenings when cooking is the fun part | Evenings when cooking is not happening |
None of that is a knock on recipe boxes. Chopping on a Tuesday can genuinely be the good bit of the day. The question is simply whether tonight is that night - and for a lot of households, most weeknights are not.
What Saakshi's Kitchen sends instead
Punjabi home cooking, already cooked. From the weekly rotation: dal tadka, rajma, Amritsari chole, matar paneer and whatever sabzi is in season. From the signature menu: butter chicken, biryani, shahi paneer. Paneer tikka and seekh kebabs when the week needs lifting. Every dish is cooked in small batches in our FSA 5-star kitchen, the masala built from scratch for each pot rather than from a pre-made gravy base, and portioned as a complete meal with rice or chapatis.
You can build your own box from the dishes your house actually eats, or browse this week's menu to see what is cooking right now.
The weeknight case for a freezer that is already sorted
Your box arrives frozen and goes straight into the freezer. On the night you need it, the meal goes from freezer to table: cook or reheat straight from frozen until piping hot, following the pack instructions. Once a meal has defrosted, never refreeze it - eat it within 24 hours. There is no shopping list, no half-used jar of anything, and no pan mountain at nine o'clock.
Dietary needs
There is a full vegetarian rotation - Pure Veg boxes are built from it - and our kitchen-cooked meats are halal. Every product page carries the full ingredient list, so you can check any dish before it goes in the box.
