Planning Diwali dinner for 2, 4 or 8? Here's the Punjabi-home formula: one rich curry, one dal, a paneer or sabzi, rice or roti, something crisp and something sweet. Here are three menus by table size, all from the home-cooked dishes on our feast menus. Every dish arrives ready to heat.

FAQs

What is a traditional Diwali dinner? There's no single menu. Most North Indian homes serve a rich curry, a dal, a paneer or vegetable dish, rice or roti, a fried snack like samosa or tikki, and mithai such as Gulab Jamun or Ras Malai.

How much food do I need for 8 people? Plan about 8–10 dishes, including two rich mains, two dals, a biryani, a snack and dessert. The Festival Table and the Host Feast for 6–8 are built for that size.

Can I make the whole menu vegetarian? Yes. Choose paneer, chole, dal, baingan and vegetable biryani. The dishes contain onion and garlic, and we can't give Jain or allergy guarantees.

How spicy are the dishes? Mild or Medium only. Matar Paneer and Chicken Nihari are Medium. Each product page shows its spice level.
